The first Live Virtual Event
An evening in the Berth atrium. Suppliers in Dubai show what they are shipping, a carton goes on the scale while you watch, and the price you are quoted is the landed cost per kilogram with the charge sheet open beside it.
Thursday 1 October 2026, provisional.
The date is provisional and will be confirmed nearer the time. Nothing on this page asks for your number, and nothing here has happened yet — this is what the evening is, written down before it runs.
Who it is for
Shopkeepers buying stock. One-person shops, in any county, buying a few cartons rather than a container.
Suppliers in Dubai, presenting their own lots, in turn, with the goods on the table in front of them.
It runs in the evening, Kenya time, and it is built for a phone on mobile data. The host narrates as if for radio, so the words carry the goods even when the picture will not.
It is free to attend. There is no ticket and nothing to buy at the door.
What happens on the night
This is the run of show. It has been designed and it has not been run.
Open
Cartage hosts from the atrium stage: what Berth is, how to reserve, how the deposit and the delivery work, and the seven-day door promise. In Swahili and English.
You watch on your phone. On a weak line the picture drops in quality rather than dropping out, and the host keeps talking either way.
The depot walk
Live from the floor of the Dubai depot — the scale, the camera station, and boxes in custody with their labels showing.
The suppliers
Three to five present in turn. Each one shows their own lot.
The host puts one carton on the scale on camera and states the weight that gets recorded.
The declared grade is read out as the supplier's own statement, in those words.
The landed cost per kilogram is stated with the charge sheet on screen.
The lot can be reserved while it is being shown.
Questions
The host takes questions from the event's WhatsApp group, puts them to the suppliers by hand, and reads out reservations as they land. Real counts, or none.
Close
What happens next: the deposit, the gate-in evidence arriving on your phone, the flight, the door. And the date of the next one.
The evening is recorded, and the recording stays up for a week afterwards.
Reserving
When a lot is on screen you will be able to reserve from it. That is not something being built for the night: it is the same act the lot pages already carry, and it works today.
Reserving holds units in your name. No payment is taken on any Berth page, and none is shown on camera. The trader contacts you to arrange the deposit, and you get a reference for the reservation.
Your deposit is refunded if the goods do not arrive or do not match the declaration.
The number you give is used by that trader to reach you about that reservation. You are not added to any buyer directory.
Listed right now
These are the lots the registry returned when you opened this page. They are not an LVE-1 line-up. No supplier has been booked to present and none is named here as though one had been.
A place in the building
A place in the Berth building — a shop of your own inside the Mall — is offered on the night as well as on the front page. It is the same invitation and the same door either way: a shop registers as a redemption centre first.
The rules that do not change
A grade is the supplier's word. The hub photographs sealed boxes and cannot open them, so a grade is never shown as verified — not on a lot page, and not on the night.
Cartage guarantees the goods shipped and when they arrive. The supplier declares the condition.
Every charge is passed through at the provider's price. Exactly one line is the operator's margin, and the charge sheet says which one.
Berth never holds your money. You pay the trader directly, through a licensed money-transfer company. The deposit is due only after the goods have been weighed and photographed at the Dubai depot.
No countdown, no scarcity, no “people are watching”. No count appears anywhere unless it was recorded. This is a showroom, not an auction.
Where it happens
The stage is on the atrium floor of the Berth building. Above it is the Supplier gallery: a lit unit is a consented, trading unit, and a dark one is genuinely available.
